The oneworld alliance comprising of 10 of the worlds leading airlines; British Airways, Qantas Airways, American Airlines, Lan Chile, Iberia, Malev, Finnair, Royal Jordanian, Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines (as well as affiliate partners), celebrates it’s 10th year in 2009.

The alliance which flies to over 650 destinations in over 145 countries, has 9,000 daily departures and carries over 320 million passengers annually, was originally launched in 1999 with 5 airlines; America Airlines, British Airways, Canadian Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Qantas Airways. In 2008, three new airlines joined oneworld; Japan Airlines, Malev and Royal Jordanian. Since it’s inception in 1999 many carriers have joined the Alliance including over 19 affiliate partners and in 2009 Mexicana will enter the Alliance.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary oneworld are offering global customers a 10 week sale of their fare products with 10% off the current published fares. This offer is valid from 01 February 2009 to 12 April 2009 and bookings must be made and ticketed within that time period.
